Returned to Colorado from Canoecopia 2022 in Madison, WI. For the three days I never breathed outside air, but if I have to be in a building, I cannot imagine a better place than being surrounded by like-minded paddling enthusiasts. Copia was COVID canceled the last 2 years, so there was pent-up eagerness to reconnect with old friends and make new friends. Cannot remember a Copia with more laughter. What a great launch to the canoeing season. Leading seven programs kept me focused on my job! Apologies to exhibitors and speakers I regretfully missed seeing. I could not have pulled my shows together without partnering with Jack MacKenzie and without the support from Chopper Macejkovic, Andy Jenks, Dick Pula, and Cliff Jacobson. I was honored to be part of Canoecopia 2022. Thanks to Darren and Andrea and all the Rutabaga staff for including me. Right now I am going skiing! But I will keep my canoe blog going strong this year.
